I guess this is officially train week on the blog. I remember this shoot very specifically because it came after a long shooting hiatus for me. I had taken some time off to recharge my creative batteries.
It’s always interesting to shoot after a long break. The inevitable, am I rusty, can I still do this, questions that arise. And every time, even when I’m still getting back my bearings, I look at the images later and find that, yeah, everything still works.
In fact, I’ve found that the break usually has really done me a great deal of good. My sense of curiosity and discovery is heightened. I see the world I’m photographing with fresh eyes.
That’s one of the reasons I so enjoyed my time shooting in this old abandoned rail yard. It was new subject matter for me. A good experiment for my first time looking through my viewfinder in a few months.
Any photographs from my blog and many others on my main billysheahan.com website, can be purchased as prints by clicking on the Buy Print button below each photo. Thanks to many of you who have already done just that. I greatly appreciate your kind support!
