My beautiful and tremendous friend Justine celebrated a birthday a few days ago. And happily we found ourselves in the same city for a proper celebration for a change.
Justine is one of my go-to people for so many things. She has a wonderfully thoughtful and empathetic quality about her. And that really comes in handy when I have a question about my photography or my writing.
We were looking at some of my Paris photography hanging on my studio wall years ago, a night shot of Champs-Élysées in particular, when she said, “There’s so much sadness in that picture.”
Which was rather incredible because when I made that photograph, standing in the middle of Champs-Élysées with the Arc D’ Triomphe in the distance, I was profoundly sad that day. And somehow Justine saw it in that otherwise ordinary photograph.
So yes, she’s a trusted collaborator in my art and my life. And it’s good to celebrate the day she arrived in the world. Thank you, Justine.
Any photographs from my blog and many others on my main billysheahan.com website, can be purchased as prints by clicking on the Buy Print button below each photo. Thanks to many of you who have already done just that. I greatly appreciate your kind support!
