Here’s my usual public service announcement to remind everyone to register to vote for the November elections. Voter registration in Suburban Cook County Illinois and Chicago ends tomorrow October 5th. If you’ve moved recently, you’ll need to re-register. You can also check to see if your current Illinois voter registration is accurate here.
In addition, voters can always take advantage of Early Voting between October 12th and October 28th. No more excuses about being too busy on Election Day or waiting in long lines. Voting early is something I’ve been doing for years now. I highly recommend it.
And while this blog entry is Chicago and Illinois specific, a Google search of your town, city or county and Voter Registration should bring up the information you need wherever you are.
No matter what your political views are, it’s important to vote. Take some time to study the candidates. At the very least, read the endorsement pages of your local newspaper to get an idea which candidate is more aligned with your viewpoint and what matters to you. Especially if you’re unhappy with what’s going on with elected officials serving you, here’s your chance to do something about it.
Thank you. We now return you to your regularly scheduled Facebook time wasting.
