I have a very short attention span for snow and winter. Since I do so much walking to get where I’m going, the snow slows me down. But I have to admit, it is beautiful sometimes.
Probably since I prefer to work in black and white, snow and winter have a way of turning almost anything in to B&W art. Even to your naked eye.
The sun is lower in the sky and the shadows are usually pretty striking. And if the temperature is just right to make snow turn to ice, you really get some amazing natural creations. I took this from my sleeping car window on an Amtrak trip back from San Francisco a few years ago. I love the train ride through the mountains with the lovely scenery changing with every mile.
Perfect for those with a short attention span, like me.
