Reasons to be Happy, in North Hollywood

It was a small thing. But one of those little defining moments that you make a note of when they happen. I was walking down Magnolia Blvd in North Hollywood, when I caught sight of it. There it was, on the window of the Sherry Theatre. My first publicly viewable photograph made since I had arrived in Los Angeles just a few months earlier. Right there. There it was. I really enjoyed that moment.

Game of Thrones Viewers Guide is damned original

The return of HBO’s Game of Thrones this Sunday is a welcome thing. For those unfamiliar, it’s a kings, swords, scheming, killing, sex fest of the best possible kind. Extremely well written characters and one of the more beautifully photographed television shows, or films for that matter, that I’ve ever seen. Every shot looks like …

Instagram: Some thoughts about when free isn’t really free

UPDATED: Instagram tonight announced they would revert back to their previous Terms of Service from October 2010. More details at the end of the original blog post. Some colleagues and I were talking about some archival news footage of The Beatles at Comiskey Park in 1965 that I recently ran across. I couldn’t remember if I saw it on WGN TVs website or if it was the Chicago Tribune, both owned by the Tribune Company. I guessed first at WGN. And what …

Page Two

For those of you who prefer not to get newsprint on your delicate fingers, here’s my picture from page two of the Chicago Tribune today in the online edition as well. The picture on page two is a liiiiiiiittle bit tiny. But at least I’m above Rezko. If the link above doesn’t work, go to …

I’m in the Chicago Tribune

It’s been a while since I’ve written here, but that’s because lots of great things have been going on. Santa Fe was wonderful and more than I could have ever hoped for. And tomorrow (Monday) I’m going to be in the Chicago Tribune on page 2 for their new Photo of the Week. It’s a …
