Another beautiful sky in Chicago’s summer of storms. I’m not usually a cloud photographer, but when you look up and see something like this, you make the necessary artistic adjustment.
A few minutes before I made this photograph, dime sized hail was battering the studio windows. I had opened one, enough to shoot through, but far enough inside to keep the elements off of my camera.
I just love the layers when the sky opens up like this. It’s almost ethereal. And when a little seam opens up, it looks like you could float through it.
In through the void.
