Don’t you just love it when you’ve been thinking about someone you haven’t seen in years, and your phone chirps, and there they are!
Amy and I became good friends years ago when I met her through another model friend who was staying with her in Chicago. Since then, Amy moved her life across the pond to the U.K. and then recently back here to Chicago, and I couldn’t be happier about that.
“Has it been five years?”, she said the other day.
Yep. Five years. Time flies.
I remember distinctly when she first met her now husband coming off the plane at Midway Airport to meet her in person for the first time. She was nervous and asked me to go with her. But it turned into a true modern romantic story. They had discovered each other online, found a dizzying array of things they had in common, messaged, Skyped communicated for months, and finally decided they should meet IRL. It was an amazing thing to witness.
Before they met, sometimes when I would photograph Amy, she set up her phone so he could be a part of our collaboration. A fly on the wall. See what I mean about it being a modern romance?
It’s wonderful to be living in the future.
