I’m happy to announce I’ll be returning to the Chicago Creative Pro Users Group on Wednesday September 25th, 2013 to be a part of a panel discussion called The Business of Our Business. Anyone who works in the creative industry these days is faced with new challenges and new opportunities. It’s wonderful to have the occasion for artists to share the knowledge and experiences of our businesses in a supportive environment such as the ChiCPUG.
Joining me on the panel is a wonderful group of creatives with a variety of specialties. My co-panelists will include Jeff Evenson, a technical wizard in the edit suite; Kimberly Nicole, an F-series owner and operator as well as a seasoned director; and Fred Pfeifer, photographer and producer of numerous TV and Corporate sports, a great friend of mine from way back.
The hour-long panel will discuss general trends in the creative industry as well as our own specific experiences relating to our own businesses: directing, shooting, editing, producing, still photography, new pricing models and anything else that comes up. It should be a great evening of knowledge sharing.
The Business of our Business will be part of the regular monthly ChiCPUG September meeting. Thanks to the generosity of Chicago Ad Agency, DDB, this month’s meeting will be held in their 40th floor presentation room, beginning at 6:15pm.
Because of security at the Aon Center, Tickets for the panel discussion and meeting must be reserved in advance using the EventBright ticketing system. Free for ChiCPUG members, $5 for students (with current student ID) and $10 for non-members, payable at the door, the evening of the event.
Thanks to Sue Lawson, Fred, and everyone at the ChiCPUG for always making me feel so welcome when I return! Hope to see you all there.
